This four-part class will be held to facilitate different aspects of the creation of this beautiful pattern. In addition to a wall hanging, the individual strips can be used for table runners, placemats, bed runners, or vertical wall hangings. The pattern is available at Flower Power (PDF) – Amanda’s blog (amandamurphydesign.com) and is required for the classes. Each session can be a stand-alone segment, so you can register for all segments or the individual ones you desire.
Session 1 – Digitizing Pattern Placement Layout
Each row contains 5 printed sheets, and we will learn to scan them into the Brother and Baby Lock machines with Design Center and IQ Designer capabilities. After scanning, we will sew them onto the strips, connecting them with the built-in projector and camera technologies.
TIME: April 11, from 10:30-2:30
COST: $30
Session 2 – Cutting Shapes With Scan N Cut
In this session, we will learn how to cut the various shapes used in the Flower Power Pattern using the Scan n Cut machine.
Embroidery machines are not required for this session.
TIME: April 25th, from 10:30-2:30
COST: $30
Session 3 – Filling Shapes With Machine Embroidery
In this session we will learn to scan the flower shapes with Brother Design Center and Baby Lock IQ Designer and assign fills to each one.
We will use the built-in projector and/or camera to align the design with the applique shapes on the strips and sew them out.
TIME: May 2nd, from 10:30-2:30
COST: $30
Session 4 – Creating Border Stitches For Shapes
In this session, we will learn to assign border stitches to the flower shapes and line them up with the built-in projector and/or camera to stitch them out.
TIME: May 16th, from 10:30-2:30
COST: $30
Join Eunice to learn how to put those perfectly curved pieces into the opposing inverted hollow. As a clothes sewer, when I see this, I think of double rows of gathering threads and LOTS of pins. None of that here. You will create a very attractive table runner without pins or craziness.
Check out the book from BackPorch Design to get inspired by many other uses for this technique.
Acrylic templates are also available for purchase, with pin and no pin methods. Eunice will review both!
TIME: April 3rd, from 10-:30-2:30
COST: $30
NOTE: Kits are not included, stay posted after registration for an email from Eunice that will include a material list!
After lots of requests, we’ve decided to bring back Eunice’s Edge-to-Edge quilting class! Everyone can attend, whether you’ve had the class before or not. If you have an Edge to Edge design already, you may use it.
